Gameplay

The Galleon is a large naval cargo vessel. It is capable of transporting up to four land units across the ocean. It is a step up from the Cog in both range and capacity.

Historical

The Galleon was at first an armed Italian merchant ship. Henry VIII developed it into a strictly fighting ship, and it was the backbone of the fleet that defeated the Spanish Armada. The Spanish developed a version to carry gold back from the Americas, but it was unmanuverable and therefore vulnerable to pirates.
